1. Controller

SkyNet is being set up as SkyNet Aero GmbH, a subsidiary of OnTrack Aero Group GmbH. Once it has been registered, SkyNet Aero GmbH becomes the controller and continues to process the data collected through this website for the same purposes. We will update this policy at that point.

2. Visiting this website

This website is hosted by united-domains GmbH, Gautinger Straße 10, 82319 Starnberg, Germany. When you visit the website, the server processes technically necessary connection data (IP address, date and time, requested file, browser type) and records it in server log files. This is necessary to deliver the website and to protect it against misuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in the secure operation of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The log files are stored only as long as necessary for these purposes and are then deleted.

We use no cookies, no analytics and no tracking tools. Fonts are loaded from our own server, not from third parties. The website links to the SkyNet Aero LinkedIn page and the founder's LinkedIn profile; it does not embed any LinkedIn content or scripts. LinkedIn only receives data if you click the link, and LinkedIn's own privacy policy then applies.

3. Engineers: registration for verification

If you register as an engineer, we store your name, email address, country of residence, the licences, ratings and roles you tick (EASA Part-66 categories, FAA certificate and Inspection Authorization, continuing-airworthiness roles), the aircraft types, availability period, notice period, preferred work location and notes you enter, the kinds of engagement you are interested in, the time of your registration and the version of the consent you gave. We use this data only to contact you about verification and SkyNet's engineer pool. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

This form does not collect any documents. If you decide to go ahead, we send you a separate privacy notice and consent form that covers the upload of your documents, the verification, the identity check and anonymised shortlisting. Nothing of this happens before you have given that separate consent.

You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, for example by email to info@skynet.aero. We then delete your entry. Without further contact from you, we delete your registration no later than 24 months after it was made.

4. Organisations: requests for engineers

If you send a request for engineers, we store the name of your organisation, the contact person, email address, country, your requirement as entered (licences or roles needed, aircraft type, period (or open-ended), location, number of engineers, type of engagement, notes), the time of the request and the version of the consent you gave. We use this data to answer your request and to prepare a shortlist. Legal basis: steps prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Please do not enter personal data of third persons in the requirement.

If no engagement follows, we delete the request no later than 24 months after it was made. If a contract is concluded, statutory retention periods for business records apply.

5. Earlier waitlist

If you joined our waitlist before 30 September 2026, we keep your email address, role and country on the basis of the consent you gave then, only to inform you about SkyNet, until you withdraw your consent and for no longer than 24 months from your entry.

6. Contact by email

If you contact us by email, we process your email address and the content of your message to answer your request. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), or steps prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We delete the correspondence when it is no longer needed, unless statutory retention obligations apply. Our email service is also provided by united-domains GmbH. Please do not send licence or ID documents by email.

7. Processors and data location

united-domains GmbH (address see section 2) hosts the website, the form entries and our email as a processor on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). Each form entry is also sent to our own mailbox so that we can answer it. This data is stored on servers in the European Union. We do not transfer the data described in this policy to third countries and do not sell or share it for advertising purposes. Processors used for verification are named in the separate privacy notice mentioned in section 3.

8. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise your rights, contact info@skynet.aero.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde), Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at.
